Uuringu projekt: Biolagunev geotekstiil lambavillast ja jääkmaterjalidest

Research Project: Biodegradable Geotextile from Sheep Wool and Residual Materials

Project Overview

Did you know that our local untreated sheep wool and other agricultural or used cotton textile residues could be key to producing biodegradable geotextiles? That's exactly what we're exploring! The goal is to create a geotextile that can be used in both forestry and agriculture, offering an eco-friendly alternative to traditional materials.

Project Focus

Our research concentrates on the following aspects:

  • Durability: How well do the test products hold up over time?
  • Stability on Soil: Do they remain stable on the intended soil?
  • Biodegradation: How quickly and under what conditions do these materials break down?

Additionally, the project includes laboratory experiments and testing to gain a comprehensive understanding of the materials' properties.

Project Funding

We are proud that this project is supported by the Estonian state budget with a grant of €210,000. This funding enables us to conduct thorough research and move a step closer to finding sustainable solutions.
